Securing a sustainable future: a consultation on the North Sea fiscal regime
Following extensive discussions with the oil and gas industry that examined wider structural issues facing the North Sea fiscal regime the Government is today publishing a consultation document setting out it's conclusions to date. As part of these conclusions the Government is proposing a number of changes to the North Sea fiscal regime, and would welcome comments on these proposals and the accompanying Impact Assessments by the end of January 2008. On a number of other issues Government believes further discussions would be desirable, and intends the discussion period on these to last to the end of June 2008.
