Stakeholder Engagement Strategy

The Government is committed to facilitating an open and transparent approach to the reform of the CFC rules. A brief update on the review to date and a plan for stakeholder engagement for the period to the end of 2009 can be accessed below.

Taxation of foreign branches and CFC joint event

On 7 September 2010, the Government has published the presentation slides from the joint open event on the taxation of foreign branches and CFC interim improvements held at HM Treasury.

Current CFC rules and options and considerations for a new regime

HMT released an online questionnaire in July 2009 for taxpayers, representative groups, advisors and any other interested parties to share their views on the workings of the current CFC rules and options and considerations for a new regime. 

On 9 November 2009 the results from the questionnaire were presented to stakeholders along with an update on the progress of the reform and emerging thinking.

CFC reform

On 23 February 2009, HM Treasury and HM Revenue and Customs held a stakeholder event on the CFC reform. The purpose of this event was to discuss the proposals for CFC reform that were outlined in the discussion document that was published in January. Slides from the event can be accessed below:
