The European Union adopted Council Regulation (EU) No 1284/2009 on 22 December 2009. The Regulation provided for certain restrictive measures concerning members of the National Council for Democracy and Development (NCDD) and persons associated with them. By the adoption of Council Regulation (EU) No 269/2011 of 21 March 2011, the European Union revised the scope of the measures to apply only to persons identified by the International Commission of Inquiry as responsible for the 28 September 2009 events in the Republic of Guinea.
