Infrastructure project delivery

IUK  commercial specialists provide support to government on the delivery of major infrastructure projects to help ensure that the specification, design, and procurement are undertaken effectively – particularly where there is an interface with private sector investment . Our focus is on the government’s top 40 priority infrastructure projects and, for example, we are supporting Crossrail,  Broadband UK, Smart Meters, HS2, Mersey Gateway Bridge, A14 and Thames Tideway Tunnel plus other projects and programmes.

IUK also informs the Economic Affairs Cabinet sub-committee on Infrastructure. This support includes strategic, policy and delivery advice to Ministers to identify barriers to delivery of priority infrastructure projects and programmes and to develop solutions.

Even where there is no direct public investment, Government has a significant role to play in enabling delivery of infrastructure by the private sector.  Part of the role of IUK in supporting effective delivery of infrastructure projects and programmes is to act as bridge between the public sector and private sector investors and developers. We welcome contact with stakeholders from the private sector, and from the wider publics sector,  to help identify specific obstacles to delivery and help develop suggestions for resolving them.

For further information on direct project support, please contact Stephen Dance on 0207 270 1303 or contact the IUK helpline on infrastructureuk@hmtreasury.gsi.gov.uk
