The Chancellor and Exchequer Secretary launched the Office of Tax Simplification on 20 July 2010 to provide the Government with independent advice on simplifying the UK tax system.

The OTS review of employee benefits and expenses is now underway and we are seeking input and views from as many groups and individuals as possible over the next few months. If you would like to contribute to the review please get in touch with us on the contact details at the bottom of this page.

21 March

On 20 March 2013 David Gauke, the Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, wrote to the OTS with the Government’s response to the OTS reviews of pensioner taxation and unapproved employee share schemes. He also confirmed that the OTS will undertake a review of partnership taxation alongside its current review on employee benefits and expenses. The letter and full terms of reference for the partnership review can be found below.
