• Actuarial valuations of public service pension schemes (PDF 195KB)
  The Public Service Pensions Bill provides for a common framework for actuarial valuations of public service pension schemes. The details of the valuation procedures to be followed will be set out in published directions. This policy paper sets out more detail of the Government’s intentions with regard to the content of these directions.
• Establishing an employer cost cap in public service pension schemes (PDF 178KB)
  In line with the recommendations of the Independent Public Service Pensions Commission, the Public Service Pensions Bill will establish an employer cost cap mechanism in the reformed pension schemes. This will ensure that the costs of these schemes remain sustainable in the future. This paper provides further detail on how the employer cost cap will work in practice for the main schemes.

• The Chief Secretary set out the Government’s position on Fair Deal policy in a Written Ministerial Statement on 4 July 2012. A further Written Ministerial Statement announcing the publication of the formal response to the Government’s Fair Deal consultation was made on 19 November 2012.
